Collaboration

Having work with Daniel Villarreal since 2016 while he was in the band Dos Santos. We continued to work with each other independently for portraiture on any Djing gig he did and other fun creative ideas we had digital and film. We vibe very well together and was one of the first artist I was open to try film/instant film with and he was open to it as well. This man had style and you can’t blame me not trying to document it!

In 2019, he decided to release his first solo album Panama 77 which I had the opportunity to document the recording session with the band and to be able to help part with the album art work. We created images using the Black & Yellow Duotone Polaroid film which was re-released at that time and thought it would be the perfect match for Panama 77 had to offer.

While Panama 77 was already released. A particular session in October, which some of the music work made it to Panama 77, was still mostly unreleased. This was the birth of Lados B. Members of this session included guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and on rhodes piano Neal Francis. Seeing that it was a continuation in a way to Panama 77, it was decided to keep the cover art simple and coherent to Panama 77 by using the same black & yellow polaroids but in their blank form.

We both continue to collaborate together whenever possible and when the opportunity does arise.
